September Stuff

We all are surviving being back to school! Brenna has even had a few "tear free" days.  Even though she cries, she still seems happy about school for the most part. We have clothes issues EVERY morning, but I don't even want to get started on that. Yes, I've tried picking out clothes at night.  Somehow the clothes she picked out at night become less comfortable by morning. Brody really likes school and one day he even said, "Mom, I just love kindergarten." That was music to my ears!

What have we been up to for the last few weeks besides adjusting to our non-summer life?   Brenna started dance (ballet), which is every Tuesday evening and Brody signed up for soccer, which is on Saturdays.  Last week, the high school dance team had  a fundraiser, whick consisted of teaching all of the little girls who wanted to participate a dance. The little girls got to perform the dance at half-time at the varsity football game.  Brenna had fun and looked cute! Cousin Abbi was part of the group also!  We stayed for the entire football game, which we haven't done for a long time.  The weekend of Labor Day, my sisters, nephew and I ran in the Buckshot run.
The kids surprised me with signs for the Buckshot run

All of us after the race.  I finished the 5 miles in 50 minutes and 52 seconds, which is a personal best for me.

Avery and Jaxon's great grandma Grace passed away on Labor Day. We babysat them so Sarah and Jeremy could go to Green Bay for Grandma Grace's funeral.  They came to soccer practice with us.

And to end with a cute conversation:
Brenna and Brody in the morning on a Saturday before Steve and I had gotten out of bed:

Brody: Brenna please come downstairs with me
Brenna: No, I don't want to.
Brody: Then I won't play with you at school tomorrow
Brenna: We don't have school tomorrow
Brody: Oh
And that was the end of their argument.
All for now! Have a great week.
