So Wednesday morning I made the mistake of saying I wouldn't be crying this year when Brenna and Brody start school. I got all of the tears out when they started 4k so this year would be much easier, right? Wrong! We attended open house at Brenna and Brody's school Wednesday evening and the tears arrived when we got home. It didn't help that their grandma and grandpa had sent them a card wishing them a great year in kindergarten and saying other sappy things that would make any mom cry. Brody, in typical boy fashion, looked at me and said, "Mom will you please quit crying?"
Brenna met her teacher for the first time and she seems nice. Brody had his teacher for summer school so we know he likes her. I filled out forms until my hand hurt! Brenna held it together until just before bedtime that night and then said she doesn't want to go to school. I think I need to make our summers less fun so school is more appealing. :) I'm hoping she was just tired tonight and is less sad in the morning.

| First Day of Kindergarten! |
Well Brenna and Brody made it through their first day of kindergarten! I made it too! They both reported having good days even though Brenna said she cried a lot. I'm not sure how a day can be good when there is crying involved...but I'll take it! Her teacher also wrote a note saying Brenna had a good day.
Both of them reported that the salad at lunch time was their favorite thing about kindergarten. :) I had to laugh at that one.
Glad to hear the kids made it thru their first day of school. It is so hard no matter how old they are - their first day of school is emotional. Enjoy them because now the years are going to fly by! Everyone told me that once they start school, the years just fly by and it is SOOOO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!
