The Buddy Walk and Trip to Illinois

The three pictures below were taken by Katie, a friend of Carrie's, one day when  Carrie went to the park with Katie and her children.  Katie is a professional photographer (kathrynroseimages.com); however, these pictures were taken just for fun. Katie also mentioned to snap a picture of Brody with his finger in his nose.  When I showed Brody the picture he said, "Mom, I didn't do that.  It just ended up in there." :)

I can actually hear Brenna laughing when I look at this picture.

On Sunday, September 27th the kids and I went to Irvine Park for our 2nd annual Buddy Walk.  The Buddy Walk is a benefit for children with Down Syndrome.  The 27th was also our 6th wedding anniversary!   We celebrated our anniversary on Saturday night with dinner and a movie.

Brenna lucked out and got a ride on Uncle Jimmy's shoulders for the majority of the walk.

More Buddy Walk.  Mom enjoyed catching up with two former co-workers during the walk while Brenna and Brody walked (or rode) with Aunt Jessie's team.

Cousin Abbi turned eight on September 30th.  We finally went to her house to help her celebrate on Sunday, October 4th.   Aunt Lisa was in town from Rice Lake so we got to spend some time with her.  Aunt Jessie made homemade pizza.

Last Friday (October 9th), we went to visit Steve's sister and family in Joliet Illinois.  The kids were angels the way there and on the way back.  We only stopped for one bathroom break for the five hour trip. My how times have changed since our last long trip when the kids were two.

We got to watch cousin Sara play volleyball! She played really well!

We went to a pumpkin patch.

Took a ride on a steam engine train.

Brenna and Brody at home with the large pumpkin from our garden. Both requested that I take pictures of them with it.

This picture ended up down here and I got tired of trying to get it back to the top of the page.

I'm finally caught up again.  I have to end with another bedtime story and confidence booster from my kids.  I was singing to Brody a few nights ago and he started to touch my face so sweetly.  He then looked at me and asked, "mom, why do you have wrinkles?"  I explained why and he then said,  "I can touch your wrinkles but not strangers' wrinkles, right?" I told him that he might not even want to mention wrinkles to strangers much less touch them.  :)

All for now!
