Chalk paint experiment one. I think I am hooked. I bought a cheap wooden headboard and painted it with Vintage colored chalk paint (American Decor brand) and then lightly distressed it with a fine grain sand paper. It took almost two jars of paint to get decent coverage.

Special Spectators
Special People
Brody was lucky to have two special spectators at one of his flag football games. I love how Brenna and Brody always give the best smiles when they pose with Matt and Carrie. Maybe it was something Matt said. :)

Before and After Chair Project
I figured out how to easily get pictures from my phone to the blog. Oh oh. This makes it even easier to avoid school projects. Here is a before/after of my first upholstery attempt. Hopefully you can tell which chair is the before and which one is the after. :) I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby and I was happy to say goodbye to the 60s gold.
One More
I had to post one more of Tess. This was the one year we dressed her up for Halloween. I think she wore the costume for 5 minutes but I love this picture.

A Fall Tradition
Nothing beats a perfect fall day at the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patched moved from Pleasant Valley Tree Farms to Valley Pasture Farm. Different location but same experience. This has been a tradition for us since Brody and Brenna were 6 months old. I blinked and now my 10 year old's are helping their little cousin create memories at the pumpkin patch.
Brody is a great cousin! |

Projects
Yup...the kids are getting older and I can actually do projects. Sometimes they even help me. My sister, Jessie, got me hooked on wrapping bottles. This is my second set of wrapped bottles and also happens to be my favorite. I found these bottles for less than a dollar at the Osseo Bargain Store and the shelf/mirror is from TJ Maxx. I ended up using rocks from our driveway for the "J." The "O" is a flower from Michael's and the "Y" is part of a flower arrangement that I pulled apart.
The shelf hangs in our bathroom and is a perfect daily reminder to Chose Joy.

Until We Meet Again
Tess was our "first born" and the best big sister Brody and Brenna could have asked for. She was also really good at hogging the bed and showing us how happy she was to see us every time we entered a room. Oh, and she was also master pillowcase and shoe chewer. Tess was truly a family dog and was happiest when her family was near by.

Thrive!
THRIVE
I know this blog is supposed to be about Brenna and Brody and most of the time, it will be. When I actually remember to post, that is! I had to post about a product that deserves one, Thrive! Thrive helps me have the energy to work full time+ and run Brenna and Brody from one activity to the next. Thrive doesn't clean my house for me (It's not that good) but I definitely have more energy to do the dreaded household tasks in the evening AND I have more energy to be present with my kiddos after a long day at work. Oh, I also have more energy for my workouts!
I started taking Thrive this summer when my sister had product left over that she was not going to use. I had researched the product prior to that and found reviews that ranged from good to bad. I am not going to lie the price of Thrive made me hesitant to try it. I figured I had nothing to lose with trying my sister's leftover products. I noticed a change in my energy level the first day I followed the three steps. I wondered if this increased energy level would last when I was back to work? I had to order more Thrive to find out.
3 Simple Steps Every Morning:
1. Take 1 or 2 Vitamins on an empty stomach
2. 20-40 minutes later drink your Thrive shake. I add a few strawberries and a handful of blueberries to the Vanilla shake mix and yum, yum! Love, love, love! This is my breakfast and it keeps me full until lunch.
3. Slap on the DFT
One more thing! I no longer NEED my morning coffee and I drink pop because I want to, not because I feel like I need to. I won't tell you how much diet pop I drank every day before starting Thrive but it was too much!

That Finger
My sister, Abbi, Brody, Brenna, Bentley (great nephew) went to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend. Bentley is 16 months old. It was fun to have a little one along for the adventure. We could not have asked for a better day weather wise.
Soak up this cuteness.
This little finger pointing never gets old! |

Football time!
Brody is playing flag football this year in a Fall Creek League. He is lucky to have his dad coaching him. :) My sister took some good action shots with my camera!
This kid loves his sports. I enjoy watching him!
Interesting shot! |

Double Digits, 10 years old!
I am not sure how it happened but Brenna and Brody turned 10 on May 22nd! We had a family party and a friend's party!
Friends Party with Minute to Win It games! The girls and I camped outside and the boys slept inside.
