First Day of Second Grade

The blog has been neglected since July.  I'm not sure what happened but I don't have the excuse of work as I enjoyed the summer at home with Brenna and Brody.  My camera is broken and our computer has been working intermittently, which hasn't helped.  I'm not ready to give up on the blog yet. We will see how things go.

First day of Second Grade
Brenna and Brody are enjoying second grade so far. They are in different classes again and they both
come home with mostly positive things to say.  They are not afraid of complaining so things must be good.  We (or maybe it's just me?) are slowly settling into the school year routine of crazy mornings.  It feels good to be back in a routine. We all needed that after three months of not having a routine!

Brody signed up for flag football this year and he loves it.  Brenna began her second year of tap and she still likes her dance nights.

Hopefully more pictures coming soon. :)

Goodbye Minivan!

I decided to say goodbye to our minivan.  The salesperson couldn't believe we actually traded the van in and bought a car.  He thought we had too much stuff in our van to be serious about trading it in that day.:)

Goodbye minivan!

Hello Nissan Rogue!
The new ride is Brenna and Brody approved.  The gas mileage is much better than the van too!   It holds two less people so I am hoping I don't miss the extra space too much.

Charity Classic Run

The kids and I ran the RCU Charity classic at the end of June. I ran the 10K race and the kids ran the 1/2 mile race.  Abbi ran the 2 mile race.

After the run!

Waiting for the race to start getting warmer by the minute.

Great job Brenna and Brody!
Brody was feeling overheated so we went down by the river to cool off.

Brenna was content collecting rocks. She is not a huge fan of lake water.

Brody ended up getting in the water and he did not want to get out!
Our 7-year old is looking way too grown up at times.

"Just what I needed!"

Music in the Park

Brenna had been wanting to go to music in the park since the beginning of summer and we finally made it.   It was a fun way to spend a warm summer evening.

Brody enjoying ice cream, which seems to be a daily occurrence this summer!

The kids played in the bubbles

Cousin Abbi joined us..I wonder what she is thinking.

Sarah and her mom, Colleen

Avery didn't have any problems relaxing.

Sprinkler Fun!

These pictures were taken way back in May when we got the sprinkler out for the first time. The field in the background of the picture is now full of corn that is taller than me!

Love watching my kiddos having fun!

Auntie Sheri and Steve's Wedding

Brenna and Brody were asked to be a part of a wedding. Steve's sister, Aunt Sheri, got married to Steve. They both had crushes on each other in elementary school and many years later reconnected via facebook.  Brenna and Brody were so excited to be a part of a wedding. It was a small wedding with just close family.

The girls!

Had to get a family picture since it doesn't happen too often!

This was all they would give me for smiles.

Brody took his job as ringbearer very seriously!

The newlyweds....Steve and Sheri Krienke!

Brenna's Tap Dance Recital

Brenna had her tap dance recital in May.  She really enjoyed taking tap this year.

Brenna had many special spectators both days of the recital.
Eau Claire daycare buddy, Mya.

Carol and Carrie came from Eau Claire!

Avery!

Jaxon...Awww!

Two handsome guys!
Nana, Papa, Grandma Merri, Ronna, Stella, Auntie Lisa, Auntie Jessie, Abbi, Angie, Great Aunt Linda, Great Grandma De-De, Great Aunt Zona, Sarah, Jaxon and Avery all came to watch.  I didn't have my good camera both days so I don't have pictures of all of the special spectators!

Brenna did a great job dancing and she had fun. I am a proud mom! :)  I'm also glad that our Tuesday nights won't be spent in Eleva for dance...until fall anyway!

Happy 7th Birthday!

It's been a few weeks since the big 7th birthday but I still found it strange to type the title of the blog. It just doesn't seem possible that my babies are 7 years old!

This year we decided to spread the birthday parties out rather than having a birthday party marathon weekend.

First, we started with Brenna's friend party at the Super 8 in Osseo. At one point, there were 21 kids in the pool area. Thankfully, my friend, Sarah, and her mother-in-law were there for extra adult help because we needed it. The girls were all really good and I think Brenna had a good time.
Enjoying the hot tub!

Little Ms. Avery

The Birthday Girl!
The following weekend we headed to Hoffy's for Brody's friend party.  Because we had to transport kids, he could only invite as many kids as we could fit in our two vehicles. I think Brody ended up having 6 or 7 friends celebrate with him.

Braden (who also has a twin sister) and Brody

He's getting good at roller blading!

Look at that face! :)
Then came Brenna and Brody's real birthday, which was celebrated at home. Nana and Papa joined us for dinner and dessert.
Thinking of a wish!

Make a wish!

New bikes!

Special grandparents--nana and papa

New basketball game!
Finally, on Memorial Day weekend we had our family/friend birthday party at our house. Brody had his bases all lined up for the adult vs kid baseball game but the weather did not cooperate. The kids played out in the rain and still managed to have fun.

Jaxon broke open the pinata! The look on his face was priceless! :)

Aunt Lisa and Aunt Jess-Jess!
Auntie Sheri and cousin Sara from Illinois even made it!
Great-Grandma De-De (almost 90) and Cousin Tyler. Tyler took time out of his busy schedule to stop by for a bit!
The birthday party wore Uncle Jimmy out!
Brenna and Brody are blessed to have so many people who love them!
Happy 7th Birthday to our "B's!"  We love you to the moon and back!
