Brenna's First Dance Recital

On May 14th and 15th, we got to enjoy Brenna's first dance recital.    Brenna was really excited and had a great time.  She had lots of  family and friends come watch her. We are blessed!  I think she did a great job dancing!

Brenna had a "Brenna Moment" during Saturday's show. The girl next to her was not following the routine right and Brenna scolded her right in the middle of the show. Thankfully on Sunday, Brenna didn't yell at the girl again.  In Brenna's words when we talked about why we probably shouldn't yell at someone during the middle of a dance.... "Well mom, she's had all year to learn the dance."  Oh boy....

I was amazed that Brenna was not nervous about performing.  I'm a proud mom!

All for now!

Two of a Kind

This is what I found one day when I walked into the living room.  What were they doing? Watching the Brewers, of course!

Mother's Day Weekend

On Saturday, Brenna performed her dance routine at the nursing home in Mondovi. Steve and Brody went to the baseball field for a fundraising activity. Brenna's dance went well and she seemed to have fun.  Getting her hair and makeup done was more stressful than I thought it would be. Hopefully the practice run helped me and next weekend, I will be a pro.

We spent the rest of Saturday outside doing yardwork, playing baseball and kickball, and going for short walks--Brenna likes to take her dolls for stroller rides. We had friends over for dinner and did not get in the house until after 8:00.  The kids were exhausted.  Everytime we have a nice day, Brody keeps saying, "Mom, I wish every day could be this beautiful."  He is loving this weather that allows him to maximize his baseball/kickball playing time. :)
The kids and Steve let me sleep in on Mother's Day! It was hard to make myself stay in bed, but I did! We then went out for lunch with Steve's parents. We also visited my grandma for a bit, and saw my mom when she stopped over for a quick visit.  I loved Brenna and Brody's Mother's Day gifts that they made at school.  Brenna's book that she made about me said that I was cool, I like to clean, and that I am 70 years old. :) Brody made me notecards with different things he drew on the front. The one below is apparently of Steve and I kissing according to Brody. I think my notecards will probably be more of a keepsake.

My double blessing and me! Love them!
Happy Mother's Day!

My First Half-Marathon!

Last weekend, I ran my first half-marathon.Despite the cold weather, it was a great experience and I am thinking I will have to do it again!  I even made the newspaper. It's hard to tell that it's me, but I am the 9th one from the front.

I made it without walking and in less time than I had originally thought it would take me. We all went to Milwaukee Burger afterward, and then went home to get warm!
I think Brenna and Brody enjoyed cheering me on and hopefully someday we can all run together.
All for now!
