Nana's Birthday and Easter

We helped Nana celebrate her birthday on April 17th at her house.  We had chicken from the Osseo Fire Department annual chicken feed and enjoyed a homemade chocolate cake with homemade frosting made by me!  Nana was not feeling the best on her birthday, but she still had a smile and her face and tried to take care of everyone else as usual!  We hope we can celebrate many more birthdays with Darlene!

The kids were awake before 6:00 on Easter morning to find their baskets.  Brody found his in the dog food container and Brenna's was in the washer.  They had hoped to find a note from the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny must have been too tired to write a note.
I didn't buy as much stuff for their Easter baskets this year and surprisingly I didn't hear any comments or complaints!
Aunti Sheri and Cousin Sara came to visit from Illinois for Easter.  Brenna loved spending time with one of her favorite girl cousins who puts make-up on her and straightens her hair.
The Easter Bunny left eggs all around our yard while we were at church.  This is Brenna and Brody's 5th annual Easter egg hunt in our yard and they still get super excited.  It takes them minutes to find the eggs.

Aunt Sheri, Brenna and Sara out enjoying the nice Easter weather.
Happy family picture---minus Brenna. I had to beg to get her in the picture.

We enjoyed our busy Easter with family minus the end of the day excitement.  Brody was walking by Auntie Sheri's pitbull, Arby, when it went towards his face.  We are extremely thankful that Brody only ended with a cut in his nose (either from a tooth or a nail), but it was very scary for Brody.  I'm sticking with my theory of never trusting a Pitbull!
Hopefully more catch up pictures coming soon!

Cousin Sara's Confirmation

The weekend before spring break, we traveled to Illinois to see cousin Sara's confirmation.  It was a long trip, but the kids were great travelers!
Friday night was Sara's confirmation
Saturday morning we enjoyed some pool time at the hotel and then hopped back in the truck to drive 1.5 hours to watch Sara play volleyball.

All of our free moments were spent swimming

I can still swim!

Trying out the moves from swimming lessons

This is what I get when I tell the kids to look like they love each other.
Brody put in some effort, Brenna...not so much!

Saturday night, we let the kids swim until almost 10:00. The next day we all slept in until 7:45.  I don't think my children have ever slept that long in the morning.  It was a nice treat.

All for now!

Donuts with Dads

The week of March 21st I had off for spring break.  Brenna and Brody did not have spring break so I had big plans to get a lot done.  Needless to say, I managed to stay busy but between dentist appointments, volunteering in Brenna and Brody's classroom, and a snow day for the kids, I did not get as much done as I had hoped. It was still wonderful to have a week off and I enjoyed being a stay at home mom for week.  Brenna and Brody loved having me take them to school every day and pick them up.  As busy as my break was, I wondered how everything gets done when I am working?

Friday, March 25th, Brenna and Brody had Donuts with Dads at their school.  Brody and Brenna enjoyed having Steve visit their school. They played games, sang songs, and ate donuts, of course!  I liked the poem and footsteps that Brenna gave to Steve.  I think her feet have grown....

Brody told me not to be sad because Muffins for Moms will be coming soon!
