New Bikes

We have been enjoying a lot of time outside! Brenna and Brody have already put a lot of miles on their bikes.  On Saturday, Steve and I decided to go to Eau Claire with the kiddos to buy them an early birthday gift, bikes!  Both Brenna and Brody were outgrowing their old bikes so it was time to go to the next sized bike.  The new bikes fit them much better although they have to work a little harder at keeping their balance with the bigger size bike.   I wish  I had their energy.

Saturday evening the James' came out for a visit.  Jaxon is Brenna and Brody's age and Avery turned one in November.  Brenna loves taking care of Avery. :)  She is so good with little ones.  It was nice finally getting together but with tired kiddos our get togethers never go too late!

Sunday Brenna and I had some girl time in Eau Claire.  She went into work with me and helped me clean/organize.  She then spent some time riding her bike around and played on the playground at the school.  We had lunch at Grandma Merri's and then went home to spend some time with the boys!   Steve and Brody had gone to watch a City League basketball game. Brody is very into basketball lately and plays it any chance he gets.  My clothes hamper is now a basketball hoop the majority of the time.  I think it's time to invest in an outdoor hoop.

Abbi came out Sunday afternoon to play with Brenna and Brody.   I worked on raking up all of the many rocks in our lawn.  I think there is more gravel in our grass than on our driveway from the snowplow this winter. 

Working on name writing seems to be a major part of 4K. Both Brenna and Brody are doing pretty well with remembering how to spell and write their last name. The teacher sends home samples every once in awhile either to show us that their doing okay or to remind us to get practicing at home. :)  Brenna likes to write fast where as Brody takes his time and forms every letter so carefully.

The Best Mom and I Don't Like You

There hasn't been a lot going on at our house lately. Last weekend, I was really sick most of the weekend so the kids got a lot of quality time with Steve.

This is my new favorite picture of Brenna and Brody. Carrie took it one day when they were at her house. They look so happy.



And for a lack of anything else to post, I'll end with two stories.

Today Brody out of the blue said, "Mom you are the best mom in the world and I love you." Then he ended with, "Well, there might be better moms, but you are the best."

Last weekend Brenna told Brody, " I don't like you and don't even tell Daddy that because I do like you but are just so mean to me." She cracks me up.

Lately, Brenna and Brody seem so grown up when I look at them. I can't believe they will be five in a little over two months. They are already reminding me of their birthday on a daily basis and have informed me that the "grandma" who helps out at their school will be coming to their party. I hope she isn't disappointed when she doesn't get an invitation. :)
