End of Summer Fun

We helped Jaxon celebrate his 4th Birthday at Stoddard Park. It was a fun party. Avery was watching the kids swing. She was fighting falling asleep. Getting tired.....

Falling asleep...... refused to put her head back in her stroller.
Out for the count.......still sitting upright.
On Thursday, August 27th we took a trip to Hayward to go to Wilderness Walk. We also enjoyed go-karts, pizza, and the candy store. It was a great family day and the weather was perfect!

Brody took this picture of Steve and me.

Brenna and Brody love the mystery house at Wilderness walk.

They love each other. This tends to be the standard posed when both are willing to pose for a picture. :)

Do you recognize these goats?
Watching the fish eat food at Wilderness Walk.
This is Brenna's scary face. Part of our entertainment on the way to Hayward.
Brody's scary face. The way he can make his one eye cross does scare me. :)
Entertainment while we waited for our pizza. Carrie taught Brenna and Brody how to make binoculars last Tuesday when they spent the day with her. :)
Brenna and Brody helped rake up the grass last week. They rake it, put it in the wheelbarrow and dump the wheelbarrow out all by themselves. I told them I could rent them out, but I think there are laws against that.
Enjoying some time at home building a train track.
Another great summer coming to an end, which is hard to believe. Soon the chaos of working full time and being a mom begins! I look forward to seeing my students again and getting to know new students in Augusta. I will miss the relaxed mornings and extra snuggle time with Brenna and Brody.

Brenna and Brody met their new daycare lady, Leslie, on Friday. They also met her daughter Vanessa(third grader). Griffin (1 year old), her son, was sleeping so we did not meet him. I know it is going to be a big change for them in the beginning with starting school and a new daycare but hopefully they will adjust. Hopefully I will too.
Have a great week!

It's Official!

Shortly after posting my last blog and complaining that I didn't know if Brenna and Brody would be in the AM or PM session, I heard that the 4K class list was available on-line in the school district's monthly newsletter. I quickly looked to see what class Brenna and Brody are in. They are in the morning session with Mrs. Lyngen. A few days after finding out, we received an introduction letter from Mrs. Lyngen. We also found out when Brenna and Brody will be getting on the bus in the morning. It is strange seeing my kids names on class and bus lists. They are still too little for that, right!? So I guess it's official, Steve and I are parents of 4-year old kindergartners!

The days continue to fly by and we keep having fun. The majority of the time I love being with my kids and can't say I miss work too much. They are fun to be around and usually make me laugh frequently. I say majority because there's always those moments during a temper tantrum or whining that I usually don't enjoy.
Cousin Heather comes to visit us once in awhile. We all love her visits!

Brody had to wear Brenna's nightgown one night. Even with a girl's nightgown on, he still looks all boy! The color in the background is the new color of our dining room, which was previously a not-so-pretty yellow.
Brenna and Brody both love helping me cut up watermelon. It's nice because they are a big help, which means less work for me! Brenna in her underwear...seems to be her favorite attire this summer.
The slip-n-slide continues to be a hit. We put two together and on a hill. It's a lot more fun if you do the things the warnings on the slip-n-slide tell you not to do. Quite a few times it has been naked slip-n-slide as Brenna and Brody figured out that they can go faster when their butt is bare. It got a little scary when they were naked and decided to go on their stomach, especially Brody. All body parts survived! Good thing we live in the country. Thankfully today when they went on it, I convinced them both to keep clothes on. It makes it easier to take pictures then they are clothed and I can relax a little more.
Brenna is very proud of her new accomplishment. She can write her name with some reminders how to form a couple of the letters. Now if only writing paper was made to accommodate the extra large print! Brody has been writing his name for awhile and did not care to do it so I could take a picture.

Fun at the Osseo pool! We always have to swim to the "deep end" a few times. Brody uses his arm floaties and Brenna uses a floatie tube.

Love this picture of Brody. The hair is crazy from sunscreen. Cousin Tyler said Brody reminded of a Dr. Seuss character with this look. Brody works hard at keeping his mouth closed so he doesn't inhale water. This task is more difficult for Brenna because it requires no talking! :) The girl LOVES to talk!

Brody taking a break to warm up.

Brenna looks like she is telling Brody something serious.
Cousin Abbi and Tyler are usually at the pool.Brody bouncing a ball back and forth with Tyler. Ball games...even at the pool!
Brody mooned a few people at the pool. He had to go "pee really really bad" and began to pull his shorts to his knees before getting into the bathroom. They all had to laugh and so did I. Oh to be a kid....
