Flu bug and Home/Garden Show

Thursday was Brody's special day at preschool. He chose to bring Yo-Gos for his snack and his laptop computer for show-n-tell. The special helper gets to say what one of their blessings are. Brody said he said that Jesus is his blessing. Last week Brenna was special helper and she said Carrie is her blessing. It's sweet to hear what they say! Thursday night we went to Grandma Merri's for pizza. The kids love running up and down the halls in the apartment complex she lives in.

On Friday afternoon, I got a phone call from Carrie saying Brody woke up from his nap crying. She said he felt warm and did not want to eat. I arrived at Carrie's to find Brody in a blanket on the couch crying and saying his eyebrows hurt. I felt so bad for him. We quickly got packed up and headed home. We were about two minutes from home when Brody needed the garbage can. At that point, Brody was throwing up and Brenna was crying because she doesn't like it when Brody is sick! We finally made it home. Nana and Papa brought out Sprite and took Brenna in to town to get some dinner. She wanted out of the "sick house" as she calls it. We had a lazy evening watching movies while Brody dozed on and off. His fever is finally gone today and I think he is better.

On Saturday, Heather stopped in on her way back to Eau Claire. She gave Brenna an up-do, which Brenna kept in for a total of 5 minutes! Tyler also spent a couple of hours at our house on Saturday so he could update his I-Pod. Yes, Brenna is wearing a Spiderman pajama top (her brothers).

Steve decided to have a booth in the Home and Garden Show in Eau Claire. With everyone healthy on Sunday, we finally got to visit him. Papa joined us. The kids enjoyed looking at the different exhibits trying to find cookies, popcorns and balloons. Aftewards, we went out to lunch and then headed home. Later in the afternoon, Great Grandma De-De babysat so I could go work out. The kids had fun and De De didn't seem to stressed out when I got back. :)
Sorry about the extra spaces sometimes. I am still trying to figure out how to do this!

Pajama Day, Valentines, and Babysitting Fun

Tuesday was pajama day at preschool. Brenna and Brody got to watch movies, eat popcorn and be in their jammies. They were very excited to wear their pajamas and slippers to school. They also got to bring a stuffed animal. As Brody said, "a special one but not a really really special one." They refused to take their pajamas off the entire day at Carrie's house.

Thursday was their first Valentine's Day party. They got their Valentines ready Wednesday night. Both attempted to sign their names. Brody had the B, O, and Y recognizable on many of his Valentines. Brenna just made a couple of scribbles and called it good. :) They got special Valentines from Carrie and Carrie's neighbors, Bob and Carol. Carrie always makes every holiday special for Brenna and Brody.

Auntie Sheri, Cousin Sara, and Great Aunt Zona sent us nice Valentine's Day cards.

their new shirts from Papa and Nana. They also got the movie, Mary Poppins as a Valentine's Day gift. Nana and Papa babysat on
Saturday so Steve and I could enjoy a Valentine's Day outing. We went to a movie and out for dinner.

On Sunday, we babysat for our friend Jaxon and his sister Avery while their mom and dad went on a date. Brenna and Brody had fun playing with Jaxon but also spent a lot of time watching Avery. They are both really good with her. She loved looking at them and smiled when they made clicking noises. Brody told Steve that, "I wish we had a baby of our own" and Brenna keeps wondering when she will be a baby again. Steve and I assured Brody that it is much more fun to borrow someone else's baby then have one of our own. :)

Last comment..I registered Brenna and Brody for 4-year kindergarten last week. We have round-up in March. It is hard to believe that they will be FOUR in about three months, much less starting Pre-K next year!

Orange Day and Snow Fun

Last week was pretty uneventful. Brenna and Brody spent Monday through Thursday with Carrie and Friday with Nana and Papa. Thursday was "orange" day at Brenna and Brody's preschool so they both wore orange. I had to dig through the summer totes to find an orange shirt for Brenna. In the past, Brenna has not always wanted to wear the color of the month and always ask, "Will Miss Dorothy be mad?" Brenna was excited to wear orange so it must be a color she likes. On Friday, we got a surprise visit from cousin Heather. Both were excited to see her and did not want her to leave.

On Saturday, Aunt Jessie, Uncle Jimmy, Tyler and Abbi came out with the "Mini Z" as Brenna had been begging to drive it. Brody tried driving it but did not like how much it jerked when he hit the gas. Both he and Brenna preferred to ride as passengers with Abbi. We spent the morning snowmobiling in the fields and just playing outside. It was great to be able to spend time outside. Brenna and Brody took naps in the afternoon while I went to a wine tasting at Cabin Chic in Osseo with Sarah and Colleen. The wine tasting got done a little too soon so we extended it to Malibu tasting at Gails! Brenna and Brody finished the evening with having Abbi spend the night. They love having Abbi stay and besides the occassionally fighting, usually have a lot of fun. I think Abbi might have a future as a Speech Language Pathologist because she is constantly trying to help both kiddos use perfect speech. Lastly, we made cookies with the Easy Bake and watched Horton Hears a Who before falling asleep.
